First, of course, we start with the evergreen and amazingly expressive shut up in German. Because nothing expresses my dissatisfaction with as much grace as a good old “Shut up, you son of a bitch. If you want to add a touch of rudeness to the already rude grip in German, say one of them, followed by an interjection of age or man, or even an eh. Together with the flap in German, I will give you some of my favorite bad words in all the ways I’ve learned to say in my six years here.
As in English, the German term for “shut up” is considered impolite and is only used in very informal situations.
